Guitarist Slash auctioned off prized instruments, stage costumes and furniture at Julien's Auctions in Beverly Hills this weekend, including a Corvette with a matching red and black Gibson Les Paul which Slash said, “was the hardest thing for me to let go.”

“This is for the Los Angeles Youth Network, an organization that takes in wayward youths,” Slash told The Pulse of Radio. “We moved into a new house and we had all this stuff in storage. And we’re like, ‘This doesn’t get used, so an auction would be really, really cool. Let’s give it away to charity and just let some of this stuff go.’”

Among the highlights of the auction included Slash’s personal Epiphone Slash Appetite Les Paul Standard guitar, Ray-Ban aviator glasses, a custom Guns N’ Roses belt, and a Cartier Roadstar wristwatch. Many of the items have a history that Slash described as “debaucherous.”

“There’s the stuff that’s in here has a lot of history that couldn’t possibly be detailed in the catalog,” said Slash. Many of the items were acquired during Slash’s world tours with Guns N’ Roses and Velvet Revolver, including his dinosaur models. “I’m a huge dinosaur buff,” Slash told RollingStone.com. “Most of the dinosaurs were hand-made. Those were pretty hard to part with. All the stuff that I liked as a kid – rock & roll, cars, girls, dinosaurs, snakes – is something I never grew out of.”
