Classic Epiphones for Southpaws

The Epiphone Ltd. Lefty Collection

Epiphone has always made its classic models available for left-handers. After all, some of our favorite artists, like longtime Epi fan Paul McCartney, struggled to find other brands that had lefty models readily available.

Now Epiphone introduces three of our most popular and historic instruments for lefties; The Inspired by "1964" Texan Acoustic/Electric, the EJ-200SCE Acoustic/Electric, and the Casino, perhaps the most famous archtop in rock and roll. Visit your Authorized Epiphone Dealer today and try them all out!

The Epiphone Ltd. Lefty Collection

The Epiphone Ltd. Lefty Collection

The British Invasion legend for lefty’s!

Epiphone has been making the world's best affordable instruments for 140 years for both right-handers and left-handers! And while models such as the Masterbilt, Broadway, Wilshire, and Coronet, are some of Epiphone's most popular models, the Casino is arguably Epiphone's most famous electric guitar due to its close association with The Beatles and now GRAMMY winner Gary Clark Jr.

The Epiphone Casino still has the same classic look, sound, and features that have made it the go-to guitar for two generations of artists and the Lefty Collection's Ltd. Ed. Casino (left handed) is literally a mirror image of the British Invasion's favorite electric archtop.

Classic Vintage Styling and Unique Features

The Ltd. Ed. Casinofor Left Handers has all of the Casino's iconic features including a 5-play laminated Maple top, back, and sides with a Vintage Sunburst finish and basswood bracing underneath. A replica of the 60s era blue rectangle model label can be seen in the upper bout’s "f" hole. And the white and black-layered pickguard has the classic "E" in metal. The top and back of the Casino's body is bound in a single layer of Ivory, as is the fingerboard.

The Casino's 24.75" scale Mahogany neck has a time tested 1960s SlimTaper™ "D" profile with the glued-in neck joint joining the body at the 16th fret, just like vintage models from the '60s. The 12" radius neck features a Rosewood fingerboard with parallelogram inlays in pearloid, a 1.68" nut, 22 medium jumbo frets, and Epiphone "Deluxe" machine heads with small metal buttons at a 14:1 ratio.

The Casino's headstock is still the Epiphone Sloped Dovewing with a 60s era Epiphone logo in pearloid and the Kalamazoo era "bullet"-shaped truss rod cover with the now familiar Epi "E" in silkprint.

Original Premium Electronics

No detail of the Casino has been missed. Today's Casinos incorporate Epiphone's famous Alnico P-90T and P-90R "Dogear" pickups for that perfect combination of chime and growl. Widely known as the king of single coil pickups, these lean and mean P-90's offer a stellar combination of high output and biting treble response. The P-90 pickups were favored among jazz players for their clear horn-like tone and were adopted by rock and rollers from the US and the UK from The Beatles to the Kinks and now Gary Clark Jr.

Quality Construction, Hardware and Add-ons!

Unlike an ES-335, the Casino is completely hollow which contributes to its unique, signature sound. The Casino has always been known for being an instrument that gets in tune and stays that way, thanks to our LockTone™ Tune-O-Matic bridge and trapeze tailpiece.

And of course, the Lefty Casino comes with Epiphone's Limited Lifetime Warranty and Gibson's 365/24/7 Customer Service.

The Epiphone Ltd. Lefty Collection

The Epiphone Ltd. Lefty Collection

Inspired by 1964 Texan…for Lefties!

Since its introduction in 1958, the Epiphone Texan has been the choice for some of rock's greatest songwriters including Paul McCartney, Kurt Cobain, Patrick Simmons of the Doobie Brothers, Peter Frampton and Noel Gallagher.

And now, Epiphone's Ltd. Ed. Inspired by 1964 Texan Left-Handed brings back the iconic big-voiced acoustic with all the great features of the vintage original with modern updates for today's musician.

Classic Advanced Jumbo Sound

Unlike a dreadnought, the Epiphone Texan features a more rounded upper bout and a larger lower bout with a subtle waist resembling a bell shape. This design enables a more balanced acoustic tone with clear highs, deep lows, and a full mid-range that's perfect for singer/songwriters and solo performers. Like the original, the Ltd. Ed. Inspired by 1964 Texan Left-Handed features a premium Solid Spruce top with a solid Mahogany back and Mahogany rims. Spruce is a tonewood--one of the preferred wood for building acoustic guitars. The "sound" of Spruce improves with age and playing time, so play your Texan a lot! The Ltd. Ed. Inspired by 1964 Texan comes in an Antique Natural finish.

The SlimTaper™ solid Mahogany neck is glued into the body at the 14th fret and is topped with a Rosewood fingerboard adorned with the 60s style parallelogram inlays. Keeping the Texan in-tune are vintage style tuners (without the vintage headache) with classic small oval buttons. Epiphone has even reproduced the original blue rectangular soundhole label found in all Epiphone instruments throughout the 60s.

The Texan Plugs In

The modern "Inspired by 1964" Texan also features a fixed, compensated saddle. Unlike the original adjustable style, the Texan's new saddle provides improved tuning accuracy and better string vibration transfer to the top which results in incredible sustain. And for today's player, Epiphone adds Shadow's state-of-the-art Sonic™ preamp system with the revolutionary under-saddle NanoFlex™ low-impedance pickup to allow acoustic players to "plug in."

Discretely mounted inside the sound hole, the Sonic™ preamp features an easy-access volume control with high and low EQ controls. There's also a "phase" switch that instantly cuts feedback without affecting tone. The Nanoflex™ pickup is the only pickup that senses both the vibrations of the strings and the movements of the soundboard simultaneously. So, the sound is truly "acoustic," combining accurate body and string tone with percussive attack. It's like having a microphone mixed with an under-saddle pickup!

The preamp is powered by two 2032 lithium batteries and the complete system is extremely light and weighs far less than ordinary 9V systems. A premium Shadow output jack is incorporated into the endpin jack and the entire electronic system is covered by Shadow's 5-year worldwide parts and labor limited warranty.

The new Ltd. Ed. Inspired by 1964 Texan Left-Handed is a thoroughly modern acoustic guitar with a classic sound that can go anywhere. And, of course, it comes with Epiphone's Limited Lifetime Warranty and Gibson Brands 24/7/365 Customer Service. Visit your Authorized Epiphone Dealer and make the Ltd. Ed. Inspired by 1964 Texan Left-Handed your "workhorse" guitar!

The Epiphone Ltd. Lefty Collection

The King of the Flat Tops for Lefties!

The new Ltd. Ed. EJ-200SCE Left Handed is Epiphone's modern version of the "Super Jumbo" or as its better known among collectors, the King of the Flat Tops. And now there's a model for southpaws!

The EJ-200CE is one of the most distinctive--and most beautiful--acoustic guitars in the history of popular music. But don't just take our word for it. The "J-200" is known worldwide for its hourglass shape and strong midrange tone that has powered every major trend in rock, pop, country, and folk since it was first introduced in 1938.

Today, the Epiphone Ltd. Ed. EJ-200SCE Left-Handed is the direct descendant of the singular acoustic guitar whose look and sound have been treasured for generations over all genres. King of the Cowboys Gene Autry, honky tonk queen Emmylou Harris (who now owns Gram Parsons’ J-200), the Everly Brothers, The Who’s Pete Townshend (who composed The Who's Tommy on his J-200), Reverend Gary Davis, Elvis Presley, Paul Weller, Keith Richards, Bob Dylan, and George Harrison have all recorded, performed, and posed for record covers with their Super Jumbos.

All Hail the King!

The Epiphone Ltd. Ed. EJ-200SCE Left-Handed has all the classic looks and sound of hard-to-find vintage originals including a Select Maple body, a Solid Sitka Spruce top and a striking cutaway for easy upper-fret access. The SlimTaper™ Maple "C"-shape neck makes it easy to hold full chords while keeping a driving rhythm. The Rosewood fingerboard has vintage styled Pearloid "Crown" inlays and the body of the EJ-200SCE has 6-layer Ivory/Black inlay. The EJ-200SCE's body back, fingerboard, and a Sloped Dovewing headstock have single-layer Ivory binding.

One of the "King's" most distinguishing features is its Rosewood "moustache" bridge and tortoise style pickguard which is modeled after late 40s models and is set off by two color finishes--Natural, and Vintage Sunburst. Epiphone's hardware has always been the best in the business and the EJ-200SCE is no exception with features gold Grover® Rotomatic 18:1 Ratio tuners and gold screws on the traditional "bell' style truss rod cover.

Shadow® NanoFlex™ and NanoMag™ Pickup System Double the Acoustic Power

The EJ-200SCE's balanced tone makes it an easy guitar to amplify with the revolutionary Shadow® NanoFlex™ and NanoMag™ pickup system. The Shadow® NanoMag™ neck pickup is a revolutionary magnetic acoustic design featuring three samarium magnets that captures a wider, more balanced frequency range, as well as harmonics lost by regular magnetic pickups. The NanoFlex™ bridge pickup provides precise tonal fidelity that's far superior in vibration transfer and amplification than more expensive, competing systems. The pickup is very thin and flexible allowing it to lie perfectly in the saddle tray to give the best possible contact from the saddle and the bridge.

The NanoFlex™ and NanoMag™ units work together with the rim-mounted, Epiphone eSonic2™ preamp system and are then outputed to a mono blend via a ¼" jack or a stereo ¼" output jack.

The eSonic2™ preamp system comes equipped with a convenient built-in electronic tuner which also acts as a mute when tuning or plugging in. Preamp controls include a Blend fader, which increases or decreases the amount of the NanoFlex™ and NanoMag™ output, separate NanoFlex™ and NanoMag™ EQ knobs, a Master Volume control, a Phase or "anti-feedback" switch, and a Digital Tuner control. The system is powered by two easily replaceable 2032 Lithium batteries that last many times longer than a dreaded 9 Volt battery.

The Ltd. Ed. EJ-200SCE Left-Handed comes with Epiphone's Limited Lifetime Warranty and 24/7/365 Gibson Brands Customer Service. Visit your Authorized Epiphone Dealer today and become part of history with the King of the Flat Tops!
