Everyone at Epiphone wishes a very happy birthday to our friend and #1 bass designer Jack Casady who was born today in 1944. Epiphone was in New York last December to celebrate Jack's 70th birthday with a star-studded sold-out concert at the Beacon Theater. Read our review here along with our birthday interview.
Hot Tuna are keeping a busy schedule this spring. They will be at the Willard Park in Devens, MA on Sunday, May 17 for Devens Rock 4 Warriors 2015 with guests the G.E. Smith Band and the Persuasions.
Jack's signature bass has become the go-to electric bass for professionals in rock, country, pop, and everything in-between. "Everyone at Epiphone really puts forth the necessary mechanical means behind putting this bass out on the market," said Casady.
"I just can't believe it's been 16 years now since my lovely late wife Diana and I worked on these basses, getting the tone right on it, and that it's still out there. Because in the world of bass manufacturing it's somewhat of an odd duck to have an f-hole acoustic bass out there. But I'd like to think it's got a good solid position in the market and that it's a versatile instrument. So my Epi basses are treating me just fine."
Meanwhile, the Epiphone Jack Casady Signature bass is on tour all over the world including Paul McCartney, Jack White, Sheryl Crow, and dozens more. If you don't have one, what are you waiting for? Learn all about it here and try one today out at your favorite Authorized Epiphone Dealer.
Happy Birthday, Jack!
