Behind the Scenes: Epiphone Official BLog

Some Very Special Guests

We had some very special guests at Epiphone Headquarters in Nashville this week as several of our Authorized Epiphone Dealers from Germany were in town. This great group of people participated in our sales training program and took in some of the Nashville scene courtesy of the Gibson Tour Bus. There are some great things being planned for Epi in Germany this year and we can’t wait for you to find out the exciting details!

What Is A QR Code?

You may have noticed that our most recent print ads include an odd-looking small square graphic and the text "Scan QR code to find out more!" Like many, you may also be asking yourself what a QR code is.

QR (short for Quick Response) codes are two-dimensional barcodes that can be read by dedicated QR barcode readers. Users with a camera phone equipped with the correct reader application can scan the image of the QR Code to display text, contact information, or open a web page in the phone's browser.

The Emperor Swingster ad pictured here (in the current issue of Guitar Player) includes a QR code and, if scanned, will take the user to a specific web page with more information about the Emperor Swingster. It's a cool new technology that we will be using more in the future.

I Wish You Could Hear And See These Guitars For Yourselves

Not long ago a buddy of mine who works in another industry and I were talking about burn out. After listening to him complain about the rut he was in, I had to feel bad for the guy… because I really can’t relate. I gotta tell you, I can’t even begin to say how cool it is to be a part of a company that still has true passion for their product. Epiphone quality, craftsmanship and reliability have never been better and we work extremely hard to continually improve in all of these areas... because we love doing it. The result is that Epiphone guitars just keep getting better and better… and the buzz of excitement is stronger than ever for those of us who work here.

For example... five new proto-types made their way into my hands this week and once again, I felt like a kid in a candy store. Heads all over the office were turning and I wish you could hear and see these guitars for yourselves. In time you will… but let there be no doubt… Epiphone continues to raise the bar in guitar value. These things are fantastic!

Below is a sneak peek at one of these beauties for you. You won’t see a more beautiful Faded Cherry Sunburst Flame Maple top… and if you listen real close you can probably imagine how sweet those Gibson USA '57 Classic Humbuckers sound!

This is Gonna Be Good!

Doesn't matter if you are talking Pie, Cobbler, Iced Tea, Gelatin... add Black Cherry to the mix and it's gonna be good. But maybe the the best Black Cherry I've discovered lately is on this gorgeous Les Paul! This proto (Black Cherry in color) came through Epiphone Headquarters today and turned a lot of heads... can't wait to reveal this model.

Gearing Up For Spring Events

We're getting ready for some on-location events this spring and we've started to get a few "swag" items that we will be handing out. Today we got a shipment of can coolers... you know, those things keep your drink cool? Well... they'll be even cooler with these! More details on the events coming soon.
