Epiphone's new Ultra-3 is a unique and flexible instrument that packs a lot of practical improvements and professional features into one guitar. With it's built-in USB port and dual pickup system, the Ultra-3 let's you plug directly into the power of your computer making it a powerful compact and travel-friendly system.
Epiphone's Les Paul Ultra-3 is the next step in the evolution of Epiphone's Ultra-series guitar line. Like it's predecessor the Ultra-2, the Ultra-3 features classic Les Paul design but adds a back belly scarf as well as a computer routed, weight-reduced body making it an extremely comfortable guitar to play while adding to itís natural acoustic timbre.
Unlike ordinary electric guitars, all Ultra-3's have not one but two pickup systems. The first is the legendary Les Paul system featuring two hum-cancelling, humbucking pickups. For the Ultra-3, Epiphone choose it's new ProBucker™ pickups for unparalleled performance and classic rock tone.
The second system is Shadow Germany's revolutionary NanoMag™ pickup. Mounted discretely at the end of the fingerboard -- the "sweetspot" for harmonic content -- the NanoMag™ in combination with the Ultra-3's chambered mahogany body, produces shimmering acoustic guitar-like sounds. So in essence, the Ultra-3 is both an electric and an acoustic guitar in one.
Also new for the Ultra-3 is it's high-quality USB output. This feature is particularly useful and makes the Ultra-3 perfect for use with your desktop or laptop computer. Using the USB cable included, you can connect your Ultra-3 directly to your computer without the need for any additional interface or device driver. So now, using just your Ultra-3 and your computer, you have a compact, travel friendly system that you can play, practice or record with using a wide variety of available music programs such as Native Instruments GuitarRig™ (which is included with your Ultra-3) or Apple's GarageBand.
