Nashville Sounds pitcher John Wasdin was perfect for one night. The 30-year-old Sounds starter fired the first perfect game in the team’s 26-year history in a 4-0, 100-pitch victory over the visiting Albuquerque Isotopes. Wasdin struck out Albuquerque's final batter on four pitches for his first win of the season before he was mobbed by his teammates.
To honor Wasdin's singular gem, Epiphone presented the hurler a top-of-the-line MB-250 banjo to play between starts and on the road. Epiphone produces a full line of bluegrass instruments including Dobros and mandolins as well as banjoes.
