Dave Berryman presents Sir Paul McCartney with a donation to Adopt-A-Minefield.

Los Angeles, California - Gibson President Dave Berryman presented Sir Paul McCartney with a $1 million donation to Adopt-A-Minefield at the Fifth Annual Adopt-A-Minefield Gala held in Los Angeles on November 15th. A leader in addressing the worldwide landmine crisis, the organization raised approximately $2 million through the evening's ticket sales and auction items, plus an additional $1 million donated by Epiphone. Of note, Serial #2 of the McCartney Aged Epiphone Texan Acoustic Guitar Series was part of the auction and sold for $70,000.00.

The benefit gala was MC'd by Jay Leno and hosted by Adopt-A-Minefield Goodwill Ambassadors Heather Mills McCartney and Paul McCartney, who shared the stage with Tony Bennett as the evening's headline performers. Quincy Jones, Ray Romano, Alec Baldwin, Pamela Anderson, Cameron Crowe, Josh Groban, Andy Garcia, Cheryl Hines, JC Chasez, Julia Ormond, January Jones and others were in attendance.

Mr. Berryman had this to say to Mr. McCartney: "Sir Paul and Heather, on behalf of everyone at Epiphone Guitar, and the entire Gibson Musical Instruments family, I want to thank you for allowing us to be here tonight to present this check to the Adopt-A-Minefield Charity by recreating your beloved Epiphone Texan acoustic guitar, which you both composed and recorded the most played song in recorded music history – YESTERDAY."
