Epiphone recently participated in a songwriting contest conducted by the Nashville Tennessean and in conjunction with the national USA WEEKEND Songwriting Contest for Teens.

The contest was open to students in grades 9-12 in The Tennessean’s circulation area who were challenged to create an original song lyric to the theme “Make a Difference.” Judges for the contest were Amy Kurland, owner of The Bluebird Cafe and songwriters Robert Ellis Orrall and Danny Flowers.

Prizes included a guitar from Epiphone, a gift card from Tower Records, a prize pack from Infinity Cat Recordings, Bluebird Cafe books and Tennessean merchandise.


Finalists included (L-R); Chelsea Paul - Honorable mention, Troy Watson - honorable mention, Jordon Hicks - Winner, Hannah Giffith - Third Place.
