2012 has been a banner year for Epiphone artist JP Soars. In May, JP was nominated as “Best Contemporary Male Blues Artist of the Year” at the Blues Music Awards and his CD More Bees With Honey
is getting rave reviews. Of course, Soars in not unaccustomed to accolades from the blues community. In February 2009 he and his band took home top honors in the IBC "International Blues Challenge" and JP received the coveted Albert King award for Most Promising Guitarist.
But JP Soars is not a typical blues guitarist. He has a diverse musical background that encompasses a multitude of influences. "I love T-bone Walker, Jesse May Hemphill, Wes Montgomery, Django Reinhardt, Muddy Waters, Johnny Guitar Watson, Guitar Slim and Louis Jordan. But I also love Tito Puente, Miles Davis, Hank Williams, Black Sabbath and Slayer." Soars toured the globe and recorded several records with some of the most extreme metal bands in the world before finding his home in the blues! It is these attributes that give Soars an instantaneously recognizable style. Catch him on the road with the legendary Johnny Winter this summer. Visit www.jpsoars.com
