Our own Sir Paul McCartney will host the Saturday Night Live Christmas Special with Martin Short on December 15 and, of course, perform loads of classics. Perhaps we'll even hear a new cut from his new album currently in-progress with Ethan Johns, the phenom producer and son of Glyn Johns, who worked on the raw mix of Let It Be as well as the classic Who’s Next.

New York City will be a-buzz that week with McCartney, The Who, Dave Grohl, Eddie Vedder, Bon Jovi, Roger Waters, and Bruce Springsteen converging on Madison Square Garden for the Sandy Benefit, 12-12-12.  The Stones have been invited as well.

This winter marks the 50th anniversary of Epiphone Casino #84075 getting its final polish and tune up at the Kalamazoo factory in Michigan before getting shipped to London on November 1, 1962. It would have to wait two years until McCartney purchased it just before a Beatles Christmas show. You’ll see that same Casino on SNL in a few weeks. Watch for it.
