Pete Townshend Receives Les Paul AwardThe Who's Pete Townshend will receive the prestigious Les Paul Award at the Annual TEC Awards for Technical Excellence and Creativity in January, 2013 at the Winter NAMM show.

The award was named after Les Paul (Epiphone's #1 fan) to honor individuals or institutions that have set the highest standards of excellence in the creative application of audio and music technology. Les's son Russ Paul will make the presentation to Mr. Townshend on behalf of the Les Paul Foundation.

“Following in Les’ footsteps, Pete Townshend personifies both guitar wizardry and technical prowess in both studio and live music performance," announced Michael Braunstein, Executive Director of the Les Paul Foundation. "He is a true original and a natural choice for the Les Paul Award honor.”
