The World of William Shatner

02.03.2012
William Shatner's rendering of "Iron Man" with our Epi king Zakk Wylde is just a stepping-stone on Mr. Shatner's long strange journey, which has taken him from the Twilight Zone to the Enterprise, from The Beatles and Dylan to Bowie, Black Sabbath, and (really) beyond. Billboard just published a new interview with the mother-of-all-space-captains whose latest album, Seeking Major Tom, helped pave the way for his new Broadway show, Shatner's World: We Just Live In It. (Catchy title, but he is 80 years strong, after all.)

"Here I go, the story is the dramatization of many incidents in my life that are both funny and sad or both, with the help of projection and stills but mostly the art of storytelling," Shatner told Billboard. "I will entertain you for two hours. It's a fairly unusual way of doing theater but it's primal in that it's me and you and I believe that I will give you your money's worth and by the end of the evening you will leave the theater happier than when you came in. I thought my music career started out of my love of the sound of words, I thought it was serious enough and began to take it less seriously but as of late what I had intended all along seems to be coming out."  All ahead, Scotty. Warp factor 9.
