Epiphone's Pokey LaFarge is in Epi's hometown of Nashville this week for the Americana Fest. The last few months have been a whirlwind for LaFarge with a new album on Third Man Records, his first national tv appearance on the David Letterman Show, a visit to World Cafe in Philadelphia, and a Best Americana Album award from the Independent Music Awards. We expect his midnight show on Thursday will be the highlight of the week though there are plenty of other great acts to hear, too.
The lineup this year is once again outrageous with Billy Bragg, Bobby Rush, the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, rockabilly legend Sleepy LaBeef, Rosanne Cash, Buddy Miller & Jim Lauderdale, and Lucinda Williams.
Epiphone's ace session guitarist and Americana artist Will Kimbrough will be on hand as well. Will kicked up quite a buzz this month when his Kickstarter campaign for his new album Sideshow Love raised $30,000, three times the original goal. Stay tuned for more news on Pokey, Will, and the Americana Fest later this week.
