Goin' South With Jamey Johnson Epiphone's Jamey Johnson doesn't like to talk to the press or talk to the audience much or go through any of the usual music business shake and howdy routine with visits to radio stations and Target store ribbon cutting ceremonies.  But on stage he's riveting and that's really all we should ask of any artist.  Jamey's fall tour continues on throughout the south over the next month before he lands in Nashville on November 22 for a sold out tribute concert to the late George Jones. And you can bet the longtime Epiphone fan will take the show. Look for that concert on CMT early next year.  No word yet if Johnson will have a new album out in 2014 (but we're ready for one). Meanwhile, don't miss seeing Jamey on re-broadcasts of CMT Crossroads' 80th birthday salute to Willie Nelson along with Neil Young, Norah Jones, and Sheryl Crow with a killer back up band led by Epi's Dominic Davis that included members of Cheap Trick and Old Crow Medicine Show.

Jamey and the Possum George Jones have a lot in common. They come alive through their music and there's not much more to say when they're done except "give us more!"  He's one of the best that country music has to offer, so make your way to one of these shows if you can.  And be sure to also pick up his 2012 tribute to Hank Cochran, Living For A Song.
