Machine Head is back on the road with their new bassist, Jared MacEachern, who won out over 400 other applications to join Machine Head. "There were dozens of amazing players, and it was interesting to watch each one take on our tunes," guitarist Phil Demmel told Blabbermouth. "One of our biggest criteria for this gig was to be able to sing the high harmonies. That was our litmus test. And Jared passed with flying colors."

Jared zoomed to the top of the list since he had already filled in for Machine Head during the 2007 Black Tyranny tour with Sanctity.  "Jared flew out a few days before the (2007) tour and rehearsed with us and did great," Robb Flynn recalled to Blabbermouth. "What was most impressive about the whole thing was that he was doing double duty--opening for Machine Head with his band at the time, Sanctity, and then later singing with us. His seriousness and dedication was awesome to see and it stuck with us."

Congrats to Jared and we'll see you and Machine Head at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in August.  Check out his audition tape!
