Epiphone's Paul Weller is offering two new tracks for streaming and download on his website.
"Flame-Out!" and "The Olde Original" are available only through May 20. You can also still download "Dragonfly" on Weller's website from Weller's last album, Sonik Kicks.
Fans of The Jam, Weller's incendiary Mod-Rock trio that kicked off his career in the late 70s, should check out the new book, In the Crowd: Images of The Jam
, featuring terrific previously unpublished photos taken by Derek D'Souza. "These pix bring back so many memories," said Weller. "It's nice to see these pix in print after all these years!" Look for a U.S. publication this summer. A recent exhibition of the photos in London was a big hit. Let's hope it comes to the U.S., too.
Record Store Day customers last Saturday had a chance to pickup a unique Weller keepsake courtesy of his American label Yep Rock--the Sonik Kicks Singles Collection
which featured all the band's singles on colored vinyl along with unreleased acoustic guitar renditions of "That Dangerous Age" and "Be Happy Children." If you're lucky, you might still find a few of them out there.
