The National Land On Hunger Games SoundtrackLongtime Epiphone fans The National from Brooklyn have been steadily climbing to the top of the pop rock food chain over the last year.  And, we've just heard that The National have contributed a new track, "Lean," to the new Hunger Games: Catching Fire soundtrack due November 22 which also includes Patti Smith, Of Monsters and Men, and Coldplay.

"The song was originally called 'Dying Is Easy' and I think that they thought it was a little too dark," lead singer Matt Beringer told NME. "So we had to change the name of the song. I actually like the name 'Lean'." Their latest album, Trouble Will Find Me, is out now and the band is on tour in the US in October before heading to Europe and the UK in November.

Here they are on David Letterman's Late Show from last spring performing "Don't Swallow The Cap." And dig Aaron Dessner's Sheraton II.
