The Roots and Costello Announce New Album We're excited to hear that our own Captain Kirk Douglas along with the Roots have just finished a new album with Elvis Costello, Wise Up Ghost, out September 13.  “It was really love at first sight,” Questlove told Billboard. “The second time he came on, we surpassed the first one. So by the third time, he was like, ‘Let’s stop messing around and do something together.'  We have the tightest 12-14 song collection out of about 20 songs that we made.”

Roots engineer Steven Mandel produced along with Costello and Questlove.  And since both the Roots and Costello call New York City home, can we expect a week-long residency on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon when the album comes out? Count on it.  And catch up with Kirk Douglas in our exclusive Epiphone interview from this spring where Kirk talks about his love for Epiphones new and old and his now infamous encounter with Prince and the '61 Crestwood heard 'round the world.
