Drummer and vocalist Brann Sailor describes Emperor Of Sand  as the grim reaper. "Sand represents time. If you or anyone you know has ever received a terminal diagnosis, the first thought is about time. Invariably, you ask, 'How much time is left?'

"We're reflecting on mortality," added bassist/vocalist Troy Sanders. "To that end, the album ties into our entire discography. It's 17 years in the making, but it's also a direct reaction to the last two years. We tend to draw inspiration from very real things in our lives."

Mastodon's Brent Hinds joined Epiphone at the NAMM show earlier this month to talk with fans and show off his new Ltd. Ed. Brent Hinds Flying-V Custom which Guitar World called “quite possibly one of the coolest Flying Vs ever conceived” and we couldn't agree more.  Check one out at your favorite Authorized Epiphone Dealer while supplies last. Mastodon has already announced an extensive tour schedule. Don't miss 'em!
