Apple Records will release a special commemorative 45 of the classic Beatles single, "Strawberry Fields Forever" and "Penny Lane" in honor of the upcoming 50th anniversary of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
. The single, recorded in November 1966, marked the beginning of the sessions for the legendary album but were left off the final release as was customary in the 60s for singles to not bein cluded on LPs.
The single, originally released in February 1967 (in which you hear a heavy dose of The Beatles Epiphone Casinos)
features the new stereo mixes overseen by Giles Martin, son of Beatles producer George Martin, using the same process used to create his spendid remixes for the hits collection, 1.
If the quality of the 45 pressing is anything close to the mono vinyl reissues, this will be an audio treat. Don't miss it. And get ready for our Sgt. Pepper
extravaganza in June. A splendid time is guaranteed for all.
