Congrats to all of our friends at the John Lee Hooker Foundation who launched their first Classroom of the Blues program at Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School in Oakland, California last week. The John Lee Hooker Big Band, under the guidance of instructor Alison Streich, made its debut featuring an ensemble of 30 young musicians performing Hooker's classics "Boogie Chillen" and "Boom, Boom" on Epiphones guitars and basses. The instruments will remain at Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary as an ongoing part of the school's Arts and Music Education programs. More programs are planned for Bay area schools and beyond in 2018 and Epiphone will be there for every beat.

Check out our birthday tribute to John Lee Hooker and be sure to audition the new collection, King of the Boogie, featuring an overview of Hooker's incredible catalog beginning with his early recordings for Modern plus rare cuts never before available. If you're looking for Hooker's sound, start with the Epiphone Sheraton II PRO --or as Mr. Hooker himself liked to call it--an "outdid 335."  The Sheraton II PRO features critically acclaimed ProBucker pickups with coil-splitting, pearloid and Abalon inlay, a Graphtech® NuBone XL nut, and Grover® Rotomatics™18:1 ratio machine heads. Boogie On!
