Liam Gallagher, who recently announced a new album coming in November, teased the rock press this week that his gig in Manchester would get a “surprise” and some “serious RnR” which--of course--led to dreams of an Oasis reunion since brother Noel is currently not on tour.
There was no reunion although rumors are still circulating the band might be added to the Glastonbury Festival lineup. Gallagher donated the proceeds from the show to the families and victims of the recent terrorist bombing.
“I want to try and help pick people up,” Gallagher told the Manchester Evening News before the concert. “People like me, doing what we do, it’s our duty to give people a good time.” Liam recently signed to Warner Brothers and his as-yet untitled album will be released in November.
