Congrats to Epiphone bluesman and Bentonia master Jimmy "Duck" Holmes who posed for the U.S. Postal Service's new stamp celebrating the Bicentennial of the state of Mississippi.  The stamp is part of the new Statehood series and commemorates Mississippi becoming the 20th state on December 10, 1817.

The stamp features a photo of Jimmy "Duck" Holmes' hands and was taken by photographer Lou Bopp during a visit to the Delta in 2009. "Once you get off the beaten path, there are some mind-blowing places not many people like myself have gone to," said Bopp in an interview with Slate. A lot of these guys I shot are as good as B.B. King—they just don’t have the same notoriety. I think they’re just as important to the genre."

Read our feature interview with Mr. Holmes and don't miss his video performance on Epiphone's You Tube channel.  Congrats, "Duck" from all your friends at Epiphone!
