Yo La Tengo, the legendary Hoboken-based artful rock trio, have announced a three- month tour of the U.S. and Europe ahead of what their label Matador calls "a busy 2018." The band's annual Eight Nights of Hanukkah concerts at the Bowery Ballroom in Manhattan will kick off December 12 and all eight nights are sold out. The big tour kicks off at First Avenue in Minneapolis on March 28, 2018 and will go through Chicago, Toronto, Boston, Washington, Atlanta, and Nashville before the band heads overseas. Yo La Tengo will also appear at the Mad Cool Festival in Madrid July 12-14, 2018.  Read our classic interview with Ira Kaplin from when Yo La Tengo became the latest incarnation of Yoko Ono's Plastic Ono Band at the Glastonbury Festival in July 2014.

"Playing with (Yoko) is entirely about responding to her, what she’s doing," Kaplin told Epiphone.com. "As I said, these songs--they’re not etched-in-stone texts. They are alive and breathing...We did a small secret show in New York--basically an invite only--at a little club. It turned out to be a rehearsal, really. And the cool aspect of that was that it was so intimate.  Yoko spoke a great deal in between songs. She introduced a lot of the songs and read little pieces of writing for each song. So, it had a real intimate feel to it. I’d say we were all still finding our way at the Glastonbury show, which came after that. But I thought it came together a lot stronger."
