Ltd. Ed. Peter Frampton "1964" Texan
The Ltd. Ed. Peter Frampton "1964" Texan was designed with GRAMMY™ winner and Musicians Hall of Fame member Peter Frampton and features a Solid Spruce top with a rare Faded Vintageburst finish, an L. R. Baggs® EAS-VTC pickup system, and the same Schaller® M6 machine heads Frampton uses on his vintage Texan. Limited to just 500 guitars.
Frampton purchased his original Texan in 1968 while recording with Humble Pie. “I loved Steve Marriott’s guitar which was an Epiphone Frontier,” recalled Frampton. “I asked our guitar tech if he could find me one like it and he came back with the Texan. And I played it and loved it. Mine was made only 3 months apart from Paul McCartney’s in 1964. He wrote “Yesterday” on his and I wrote “Baby I Love Your Way” on mine!” Frampton’s original 1964 Texan has been his main songwriting guitar ever since and has been a constant companion on the road until it was retired in favor of his new Ltd. Ed. “1964” Texan. “I played the prototype on a British TV show and it sounded incredible. I’m so thrilled and honored.”
The Ltd. Ed. "1964" Texan also features a L. R. Baggs EAS-VTC system which includes both a soundhole pickup and a Flexible Film Sensor pickup in the saddle. The EAS-VTS system allows the Texan's incredible dynamic range and true acoustic sound to shine through when plugged in. Unlike typical under-saddle acoustic guitar pickups that are dependent on string compression for their tone, the EAS-VTC system was engineered to mirror the soundboard's actual movement as you play. The L. R. Baggs® system includes soundhole mounted controls for Master Volume and Tone along with a built-in LF filter. The L. R. Baggs® EAS-VTC system is powered by a standard 9-volt battery.

The Mahogany neck is glued to the body with a deep-set neck tenon and has a standard 24.75” scale and a rounded custom “Slash” profile. The Pau Ferro fingerboard has single-ply cream binding with Pearl trapezoid inlays, an Ivory/PVC nut, and 22 medium jumbo frets along with a 2-way adjustable truss rod. The back of the Firebird’s traditional reverse headstock has Slash’s Snakepit logo in gold.
Slash has also been instrumental in helping new players discover the joys of guitar with his Epiphone Signature Slash "AFD" Performance Pack, an incredible all-inclusive package for beginners and pros alike featuring a Slash-designed Les Paul Special-II in classic Appetite Amber finish with premium gig bag plus a 15-watt Slash “Snakepit’ amp with 2-channels, a full EQ section and headphone output, custom Slash signature picks, and free online lessons from eMedia.
"I just think that the most important instrument you ever get is the first one you get, the one that you learn to play on," Slash told Epipohne. "That guitar should be something that should be good quality and you should be able to play from your beginning until you learn how to play really well and start going beyond that in a professional sense. Doing a guitar that's affordable with a great company like Epiphone is something that I think should happen more often."

The historic Sloped Dovewing headstock has a 60s era Epiphone script logo in gold along with a James Bay Hat Man insignia.
"My new Epiphone is doing great, I must say," Bay told Epiphione.com. "I'm seeing lots of fans posting and saying, 'Hey, I've got your signature guitar,' which is really cool. But for myself, it's a bit of a favorite, as you know, that model—that shape and that sound. Epiphone were obviously very, very kind and did me a couple of super relic versions that were really accurate to my original '66 Century. We just finished two weeks of tour rehearsals and that guitar is sounding incredible. And it's sad to retire a really old guitar from touring. The Signatures are truly fantastic."
Jack Casady 20th Annviersary Bass
The Ltd. Ed. 20th Anniversary Jack Casady Bass Outfit commemorates the all-time best selling hollowbody electric bass designed by Jack Casady, co-founder of the Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna, and a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Jack's anniversary bass has a a Flame Maple Veneer top finished in Wine Red plus a custom gig bag, deluxe leather strap, and certificate of authenticity hand signed by Jack Casady.
Casady is one of the rare rock bassists known by both fans and players for his signature tone. And like fellows innovators (and fans) Brian Wilson and Paul McCartney, Casady became a bass player after years of study on other instruments. "My first teacher was a big band guitarist named Harry Vorhees," Casady told Epiphone.com. “Later on I took from a number of guitarists; one was Bill Harris who was the guitarist for the Clovers. He had studied with a guy who was a student of Andres Segovia."
"When I first started playing, I ran across a short scale semi-hollow bass," said Casady "Despite lacking some low end, I really enjoyed the semi-hollow nature of that bass and over the years tried to capture that characteristic." In 1997, Casady’s hard work paid off with the release of the Epiphone Jack Casady Signature Bass, which has since become a favorite for pros around the world. “I did a lot of homework and bench testing and finally when it clicked in right, it was great. The workmanship that’s coming in on these instruments is just super.”
