It Starts with a Great Les Paul!

The Slash Appetite Les Paul is built to the same specs as Slash's personal Les Paul beginning with a hand-selected, premium solid mahogany back based on historically correct specifications and topped with a hard maple cap. The hard maple is then carved using a traditional roller-type carving machine for added authenticity. Epiphone luthiers then carefully carve each body to create the sexy curves and subtle "dish" along the outer edge of the top that transforms the beautiful tonewood into an authentic Les Paul. AAA-grade maple veneer is then applied to the top for a gorgeous 3-dimensional look that looks like no other guitar.

Legendary Les Paul Sustain

The Slash "Appetite" neck is crafted from premium mahogany and then hand-glued into the body using TiteBond™ wood glue utilizing a long-neck tenon typically found on Les Pauls from the late 1950s and early 1960s. This process is vital to a true Les Paul design. The long-neck tenon extends deep into the neck pickup cavity and provides additional strength and stability to the neck as well as more wood-to-wood contact between the neck and body,which ultimately results in sweeter tone and longer sustain. The neck also features a "Slash Custom" neck profile patterned exclusively from Slash's personal Les Paul and a rosewood fingerboard fitted with 22 nickel/silver alloy medium-jumbo frets.

Pure Rock and Roll!

At the heart of every Les Paul is a pair of humbucker pickups kicking out the tone that has set the standard for rock and roll for over 50 years. The Slash "Appetite" features Slash's signature Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro pickups, which provide the same crunch, power and performance that Slash hears when he cranks up his Les Paul. The Slash "Appetite" humbuckers feature Alnico II magnets, just like the ones Slash has used for years. However, these Slash Alnico II Pro's are wound with just enough boosted output to push a stock Les Paul toward the sweet sustain and rude crunch that characterize Slash's sound. To further capture the vintage Les Paul tone that Slash loves, the Slash "Appetite" features a tone circuit using high-quality "Orange Drop" tone capacitors, tested and approved by Slash himself. Another great Slash touch is the "reverse" Zebra-coil pickup in the bridge position.

Check out the "Appetite's" Amber color found on the top and the Cherry Red back and sides with black cavity covers and you can see that great care was taken to match Slash's original guitar as closely as possible.
