Dave Grohl assembled a killer supergroup, the Sound City Players, to perform at the Sundance Film Festival this weekend in honor of his new documentary, Sound City, about the famed LA studio that gave form to scores of classic rock albums.

Grohl's supergroup included John Fogerty, Stevie Nicks, Rick Springfield, and members of Cheap Trick, Nirvana, and Rage Against the Machine. A soundtrack is due is March and the film will be in theaters January 31. Epiphone's Paul McCartney makes an appearance as well. Don't miss it.

Check out the fan footage featuring Grohl rocking out on Queen of the Stone Age's "Hangin' Tree" with an Epiphone Jack Casady bass! We always knew Grohl had great taste.
