Provision of on-site expertise for all environmental, health, safety and process safety issues. Prevent and eliminate injury and illness to employees and assist the company to comply with safety laws. Inspect workplaces, and minimize or eliminate hazards from processes, such as incorrect working methods, and materials, such as potentially toxic chemicals. Must have the willingness to dive deep into the details while keeping an eye on the bigger picture will be critical. A demonstrated ability to influence people and successful experiences working in a fast-paced, multi-functional, matrixed, and international team are required. This is a hands-on position.ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIESDay to Day Facilities Operations:Responsible for the day to day Environmental, Health and Safety at specific assigned sites. Maintain appropriate systems, policies and training documentation to report accurate and timely EH&S items.Maintains and applies knowledge of current policies, regulations, and industrial processesRecommends process and product safety features that will reduce employees' exposure to chemical, physical, and biological work hazardsInspects facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and corrects potential hazards, and ensures safety regulation complianceSupports investigations of industrial incidents, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine root causes and preventive measuresReviews change management and specifications for construction of new machinery or equipment to determine whether all safety requirements have been metReports or reviews findings from incident investigations, facilities inspections, or environmental testingInterviews management and employees to obtain information about work environments and workplace incidentsMaintains, prepares and/or submits required government reports (e.g. biannual/annual Title V reports regarding VOC emissions, annual hazardous materials reporting, perpetual inventory for Title V, maintenance of Access database of all emissions, permit renewals, maintenance of MSDS’s etc.)Evaluates adequacy of actions taken to correct health inspection violationsReviews employee safety programs to determine their adequacy and implements safety training programs (e.g. lockout/tagout, blood borne pathogens, ergonomics, etc.)Ensure safety objectives and schedules are met according to EHS Standard work scheduleConducts and orient new hires at Gibson Nashville locationsParticipates in weekly EHS meeting for safety and health programs, audits, observations and practicesSchedule, supervise and evaluate the work of subordinate staff, contractors and vendorsExecute space allocation and space planning for several corporate facilitiesCoordinate and administer contracts in assigned areas of responsibilityAssist in development of standardized job safety analysisExecute annual objectives and establish or modify operating policies as needed.Serves as consultant to management and special external spokesperson for the organization on major matters pertaining to its policies, plans, and objectivesPerforms other duties as assignedPhysical Requirements/Working EnvironmentOccasionally climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairsHave the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat, and kneel repetitivelyHave the ability to walk extensively throughout the facilitiesPERSON SPECIFICATIONRequired ExperienceBachelor’s degree in chemistry engineering, environmental or a related technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience2 years related EH&S experience and/or training in a manufacturing environmentMust have PSM (Process Safety Management) experienceDemonstrated understanding of all 14 elements of OSHA’s Process Safety ManagementExcellent knowledge of local building codesProven ability to work with all levels of managementEssential Skills & KnowledgeStrong organizational skillsMust be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and organize workload to meet organizational timelines in a fast paced, very high-growth environmentExcellent written and oral communication skillsKnowledge of OSHA/EPA regulations and violationsAbility to work with Senior Executives of the CompanyLeadership skills necessary to coach and mentor others;
