This position plays an integral role in the production scheduling and inventory management of Gibson.  Weekly scheduling of production based on Constraint evaluation, Core product inventory levels, Order Aging, and component availability in a high volume, complex variables environment. The role will also ensure proper scheduling as it relates to the mix of product scheduled via Craftory constraints while participating in cross functional teams to improve the overall volume output of the facility as well as the improvement of key constrained production areas.   This role is also a key contributor/leader in the use of the Manufacturing Execution System and linked schedule loading system within the Craftory.

 

Essential Functions

  • Generating daily production schedule for high volume, high complexity production environment.
  • Confirming schedule accuracy and feasibility through constraint evaluation and cross functional teamwork.
  • Works closely with New Product Teams to fulfil Launch and delivery commitments.
  • Generates and speaks to daily, weekly, and monthly adherence-to-schedule metrics.
  • Communicates production plans and needs to company performance stakeholders.
  • Reviewing and responding to needed adjustments, delivering root cause analysis corrective actions
  • Responsible for coordinating item setup, including bill of material review and development
  • Generates report-outs related to findings and adjustments of WIP and scrap within the production process
  • Working with the Demand Planning Team, ensure that FIFO is followed when launching the production schedule and making sure that FIFO is reflected in the mix and regional requirement allocation percentages
  • Participates in formal process improvement events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

                

Required Skills/Abilities 

  • Proven team leading cross functional engagement skills      
  • Improvise and dynamically lead the production team through issues that challenge the successful production of the required mix
  • Ability to work fluently in Excel and in Access if that were required to manage the analysis needed to support Craftory processes
  • Strong organizational and follow up skills that can include customers directly
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Ability to foster and maintain strong working relationships with Finance, Marketing and Sales Teams
  • Strong Executive Level presentation skills

 

Required Education and Experience 

  • At least 5 years of complex factory scheduling                                      
  • Strong Microsoft Excel capability                                           
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Demonstrated team leadership and cross team collaboration and project management                                                   
  • Experience in managing system-based scheduling processes (Tracksys a plus) and standard ERP/MRP planning processes
  • Knowledge of the guitar manufacturing process is a plus

 

Essential Knowledge 

  • Knowledge of the guitar components and guitars and how they align to compliance requirements
  • Strong knowledge in ERP, MRP and standard operating system interactions with scheduling
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Familiarity with a manufacturing environment
  • Solutions oriented approach to challenges/issues (Problem Solving discipline).
  • Outstanding time management skillset with the ability to prioritize without direct supervision
  • Project management skills combined with ability to work as part of a team
  • Knowledge of global freight lanes, seasonal tendencies and especially container movements and limitations
  • Ability to foster and maintain strong working relationships with peers and external team members

Travel Requirements 

  • Less than 20% and only locally

 

Physical Demands
