The Engineering Technician will utilize their knowledge of CAD, 3D printing, and record keeping improving documentation, quality, and productivity within the Custom Shop.

Essential Functions

•             Work with luthiers and engineers to create 3D solid models, surfaces, and 2D prints of guitar assemblies, components, and parts.

•             Proof designs and prints for errors and update as required

•             Maintain documentation database, document releases, and change notices

•             Create, process, and print 3D parts; maintain, organize, and clean 3D printers and supplies

•             Assist quality and engineering in developing work instructions and quality control documents

•             Perform other tasks within their area of expertise, as required.


Required Skills/Abilities 

  • Computer and CAD skills
  • Familiar with CNC mills and routers, 3D printers, PLEK stations, and other automated equipment
  • Experiencing maintain engineering records and documentation
  • High level of self-motivation
  • Strong organizational skills


Required Education and Experience 

  • Results oriented and driven, with a track record for delivering to plan.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Prior woodworking experience is preferred.


Travel Requirements

  • Occasional within Nashville to Gibson facilities


Physical Demands

  • Must be able to lift instruments and tools weighing up to 20 lbs.
