Job Summary: The New Product Introduction and Master Data Control Specialist is responsible for the oversight of the New Product Introduction process as it relates to stage gate set up and coordination of the various requirements when launching a new product as well as the timely, accurate and controlled oversite of that data/system information into our ERP system. This role will work across Finance, Purchasing, Receiving, Production and Engineering to ensure that communication, as it pertains to the status of new product introductions, is accurate and timely and updated to a transparent status platform. This role will oversee the master data entry of the key parts attribute information and other relevant data and track project status and police variances and discrepancies found during the process. This role will measure and be measured on the timeliness of new product set up, the requirement dates met vs past due and the number of times new product launches occur on time vs past due and the reason codes.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Routinely oversee the set up and status of each new product launch across all manufacturing sources with the assistance of the Demand Planning Team.
  • Capture the dates due and dates completed for each of the steps in the new product introduction process and inform teams of past due situations.
  • Update necessary master data / part attribute information of new products daily and drive process improvement in this area.
  • Working with the schedulers and engineering teams, capture proper lead times and ensure that commitments from the sources establish expectations for the new product introduction process.
  • Communicate a status update weekly across the organization.
  • Work with finance to capture, upload and maintain pricing as utilized throughout the NPI process and update the global systems and databases as required.
  • Provide analysis on current state, metrics and changes via excel based schedule oversight.
  • Attend and support the leading of the New Product Introduction S&OP meetings and provide input to the Executive Group.
  • With Supply Chain Operations and Procurement, ensure all new components associated with NPI are ordered on time and in quantity and confirmations are received for sample and pilot needs. 

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Measure and drive accountability and improvements through metrics and cross functional groups.
  • Proven ability to lead cross functionally and report status in corporate level communication.           
  • Strong Excel skills and ability to perform project management via excel and other sources a must.
  • Ability to manage complexity and prioritization.
  • Ability to improvise and dynamically lead the team through issues that challenge the successful on time launch of products.
  • Mobility to work in typical office and field (warehouse/production) settings and use standard office equipment. Strength to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree is required. 
  • 5+ years of experience in project management and data entry / system management.
  • Solid to advanced Microsoft Excel capability and the ability to perform statistical calculations.
  • At least 2 years of working with Microsoft Project     
  • Demonstrated team leadership and cross team collaboration.                                  
  • At least 2 years of corporate level communication.

 

Travel Requirements:

  • Less than 10%, across other facilities.
