OVERALL JOB PURPOSE

The purpose of Neck Sand is to create the ideal rough sanded guitar neck. This is accomplished by utilizing 150 grit sandpaper on orbital, and spindle, sanders to remove any tooling marks left from the Fadal carving process. Neck sand is the last step in the creation of a guitar neck before it is attached to a guitar body. Neck Sanders need to be intimately familiar with model types and wood species. Producing an ideal neck is paramount to creating a guitar that is both perfectly playable and aesthetically pleasing.” 

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities will include:

• Learn and execute standard operating procedures
• After training is complete, ( 4 weeks) a Neck Line Machine Operator will be able to sand 60-70 necks a day
• Able to operate a spindal and orbital sander to a high degree of precision
• 95% pass rate based on production requirements
• Understands and meets quality standards (Specs.)
• Maintains product flow at appropriate rate
• Adheres to department protocols (5S and Safety)
